Arvo Pärt dedicates concerts to slain journalist

“...what horrible crimes are committed in Russia.”

The Estonian composer Arvo Pärt announced Monday that he will dedicate all concerts this season to the memory of the slain Russian journalist, Anna Politkovskaya.

“Now also we have to hope that this almost legalized murder of a journalist in Moscow will make all people think more about what is really happening in Russia, and will free the world of some dangerous illusions,” said Pärt.
