Estonian state gets James Bond car
Really needed? Or a wasteful EU regulation?
The first ever bullet-proof car acquired by the Estonian state, a BMW 745Li High Security B6/B7, arrived on Monday. The security police will use it to transport high-level foreign guests in Estonia. The car meets European bullet-proof requirements and customs for transporting high-level guests of the state and is the first such car in use by a security institution in Estonia. While Estonia’s dignitaries do not travel in bullet-proof vehicles, Estonia has, in the past, borrowed a bullet-proof car from Finland for foreign guests who required one.
Due to interests of security, the details of the security equipment of the car will not be revealed. Also, information was not forthcoming about whether the car will be available for bachelor party rental.
