Ansip to remain in captain’s seat

Estonia’s Reform Party won parliamentary elections with a two-seat victory over the Centre Party. Andrus Ansip, chairman of the Reform Party and current Prime Minister, was asked to form the government. Coalition talks began this week, with Reform negotiating with the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union and the Social Democrats.

The Reform Party received 31 seats in the Parliament, the Centre Party 29 seats, the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union 19 seats, the Social Democrats 10, and six each to the Green Party and the People’s Union.
